HIV Reservoir Characterization Symposium
The HIV Cure Research Center (HCRC) in Ghent organised the first HIV Reservoir Characterization Symposium, and brought together virologists, molecular biologists, immunologists and clinicians to discuss the most recent developments in HIV reservoir characterisation with a view to achieving an HIV cure. The one-day symposium covered new developments in the field of HIV reservoir and HIV cure res...

Background: Persistence of latent provirus is the main barrier towards a cure for HIV. We propose a novel strategy to reduce the HIV reservoir by drug-induced retargeting of HIV integration. A novel class of integration inhibitors, LEDGINs, inhibits the interaction between HIV integrase (IN) and the LEDGF/p75 cofactor, the main determinant of integration site selection. This results in an allos...

Reservoir characterization This paper gives an overview of the activities in geostatistics for the Petroleum industry in the domain of reservoir characterization. This description has been simplified in order to emphasize the original techniques involved. The main steps of a study consist in successively building: • the reservoir architecture where the geometry of the units is established, • th...

For the second time, the HIV Cure Research Center (HCRC) at Ghent University organised the HIV Cure and Reservoir Symposium, in Ghent, Belgium, where in this two-day conference, virologists, molecular biologists, immunologists and clinicians presented the most recent achievements in the field of HIV cure, including data on therapeutic vaccines, HIV remission strategies such as 'shock and kill' ...
متن کاملNeutralizing the HIV Reservoir
Halper-Stromberg et al. use a humanized mouse model to demonstrate that broadly neutralizing antibodies, when administered with a combination of HIV latency activators, can reduce persistent HIV reservoirs, as measured by plasma virus rebound. Their results support the use of broadly neutralizing antibodies in HIV-reservoir-purging strategies.
